Nourishing Solutions founder, Susan Sampson
I am an independent nutrition coach, working out of my Arlington, Virgina home since April 2005. I have a background in Industrial Engineering (from Penn State) and was working full time as a manager at MCI until 1998. After having my second child, I became a stay at home mom.
I became very interested in what my family and I were all eating. Children's food allergies and my familys medical history made me particularly cautious about buying and eating packaged foods. With the encouragement of my husband, Rodney, I earned a Master's Degree in Nutrition in 2004 (University of Bridgeport, CT).
I continue to stay current in the field of nutrition through ongoing research and community activism. I am a member of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals and a volunteer Nutrition Educator with the Virginia Cooperative Extension. I also serve as Chair on the Arlington Public Schools Health Advisory Committee and the Food Services Commitee, charged with improving the school lunch program for Arlington County.
